Beyond individual teaching practice, the physical or virtual space a session happens in shapes how accessible it actually is.

  • Advance notice of any changes to timetable, room, or course plan, communicated directly and in writing.

  • Access to a sensory-friendly or low-stimulation space for breaks or for sitting exams.

  • Reduced background noise and predictable lighting in teaching spaces where possible.

  • Consistent, unchanging room allocations and layouts wherever practical.

  • Clear signage and predictable wayfinding around campus to reduce anxiety about navigating unfamiliar spaces.
