Visual impairment ranges from low vision to total blindness, and the strategies students use to manage it are similarly varied — most rely on screen readers, magnification software, or large print rather than Braille, and Braille literacy should never be assumed. Much of the barrier in this category comes not from vision itself but from how consistently materials and systems are built around sighted assumptions by default.
